Legal & Democratic Services

Staff in Legal and Democratic Services provide legal services to officers and members of the council and administer the democratic process, including meetings of the council,cabinet, scrutiny panels and committees as well as elections and electoral registration.The service also includes Land Charges and Registrars.

Joint Consultative Committee

The Strategic and Development Services Joint Consultative Committee consists of managers and stewards from our service and others in the same HR Group. The JCC is administered by our HR Adviser, Derek Coxon and Louisa Rae.The Committee, which meets approximately every two months is an opportunity for us to raise concerns on your behalf in relation to service conditions, health and safety etc. and for management to share information with us. Any issues that cannot be resolved at directorate level can be taken to the Corporate Consultative Group.
